Highlights & Upcoming Events:

2007 - Artistic Driector Anabel Ho invited to China's 2nd Annual "Outstanding Overseas Chinese Youth conference" in Beijing & Shanghai.

2007 - The Hip Hop Division performed for the BC Children's Hospital "For Children We Care" Annual Fundraising Dinner.

2007 - VAD Instructor Lisa Ho performs on Broadway as "Connie" in the revival of the musical "A Chorus Line".

2007 - The Chinese Dance Division performed for the Richmond Chinese Community Society annual Chinese New Year Festivities.

2007 - The Chinese Dance Division performed for the Canadian Hotircultural Council.

p>2007 - The Chinese Dance Division performed for the Brotherhood Interfairth Society's "Man of the Year" 2007 Award.

2007 - Sixty members of the Vancouver Academy of Dance & Strathcona Chinese Dance Comapny were selected to perform ion Chinese Central Television's New Years Special "The Same Song". Students performed on stage with Eric Tsang???;, Bowie Tsang???; and Liza Wang ???. The special aired all across China and braodcast on Chinese television affiliates around the world.

2006 - Students of the Vancouver Academy of Dance and Strathcona Chinese Dance Company performed at the Closing Ceremonies of the United Nations – World Urban Forum Conference on June 23, 2006 at the Vancouver Trade and Convention Centre.

2006 - Twenty-five members of the Vancouver Academy of Dance represented Canada and performed at the X International Youth Dance Festival held in Macau, China July 7-14, 2006.

2006 - Sixty participants of VAD completed a successful tour of China visiting Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou and Shanghai. Participants had the opportunity to study Chinese dance, acrobatics, wu shu and tai chi with renowned artists.

2005 - VAD Instructor Valerie Ho goes on Broadway & London tour of "Legends of Hip Hop" with Mr. Wiggles, Poppin' Pete, Don Campbell, & Rock Steady Crew

2005 - Miss Chinese Vancouver, December 2, 2005

2005 - Anabel Ho was invited as an official delegate to represent Canada to participate in the 2005 Overseas Chinese Arts and Cultural Tour of Hunan and Guangxi Provinces of China, April 2005.

2004 - Vancouver Academy of Dance's Professional Troupe, Transcendance Company was invited to perform at the 9th International Youth Dance Festival in Macau, China. The company also visited Beijing, China for cultural exchange and to study wu-shu. July 2004. VAD performed at the Victoria Lantern Festival, Victoria, BC, October 2004.

2003 - Students of VAD performed for the International Olympic Committee, Queen Elizabeth Theatre, March 4, 2003. Anabel Ho was invited as an official delegate to represent Canada to participate in the 2003 Overseas Chinese Culture and Arts Study Tour in Yunnan, China, November 2003.

Anabel Ho & Valerie Ho were invited as delegates to represent Canada to participate in the 2002 Overseas Chinese Culture and Arts Study Tour in Shanghai, China, October 2002.


Students of VAD performed for Her Majesty the Queen in celebration of the Queen's Golden Jubilee, University of British Columbia, October 6, 2002.


2002 - Bumbershoot Festival, Seattle, USA, September 2002. Vancouver Academy of Dance opened a new branch in Vancouver (Westside), September 2002.

1996 - Vancouver Academy of Dance moved to its permanent residence in Richmond.

1995 - Vancouver Academy of Dance was registered. VAD rented space from Main Dance Place to run classes.
